how do you remove uj's from driveshaft

how the hell do you remove the uj's from surf drive shaft, got little clips of the backk but can't get it apart,

Hammer and socket.
Knock the uj 1 way, so the cup almost comes out, then turn it over and knock it the other way. That should get it out of 1 yoke then do the same to the other side.

Normally, hammer and socket. Although there are fancier tools available like this:

I haven't found a company locally that stocks a tool like this. Freight from US for such a cheap would kill the economics of it. People in US use it very successfully. For example: http://www.stu-offroad.com/misc/hfreight-1.htm

Sockets and the vice works well too, (one bigger than the caps, the other cap size) use the vice like a press to push one side caps out (big socket the side you want cap to come out, small socket pushing the other side in), then push back to get the other caps out, then the yolk is free :mrgreen:

Remember to take the clips out first. :lol:
