Cheers Hayden. :)

The only difference is the width of the calliper, the non turbo ones are the correct width to match the pado rotor, from memory the turbo ones are about 4-6mm wider( as they have wider discs) so if you use them when the pads are half worn theyll fall out

Cheers for that Tim, And we dont want our pads falling haha. Do you know when you might be able to sell a set of the spacer/adapter plates to mount the calipers.?? Me and Haynzy both need them and live in the same town eh.

Thanks Hayden.

I had 2 sets made, Dave is getting the 2nd set up there so you'll be fine to copy them or I can give you the details for the company that made them for me, If I was to run off more i'd make a couple of very slight changes to get them perfect.
cheers

TWL have a wide range of led lights too. You just need to make sure that you can see the indicators from the correct angles, 40 degrees off from the front corners if I rember correctly. but if you have a side indicator it doesn't matter

How did it go? soft enough for the road and family? Magic carpet ride? or weeee look at it lean on the corners? or stiff and feel every bump like the leaf sprung you came from?

Come on driving report needed, have you flexed it yet? Is it what you thought it would be out of the box?
Legal disclaimer: Any information I may have provided is worth exactly what you paid me for it.

was just a short trip as still a few loose ends to finish....
Magic carpet ride would desribe the suspension compared with the old leaf sprung truck, drives nicely in a straight line, no pulling left or right when on or off the accelerator, brakes in a stright line as well.
even though it was only a couple of k's came back beaming :D
Haven't flexed it yet, but lifted one front wheel on the hi lift and it has more travel than I thought it would.
Here's a shot of the finished rear brakes
Image

Also been working on the rear bar, its all tacked up ready to take off the truck, weld up and will fnsh tomorrow with a coat of black paint.

Looking good time. Have you thought about moving those side bars out a little. I found on mine (but mine is way lower than your truck) that I hit it a couple of times quite hard and the bar bounced up or moved sideways ever so slightly (being 10mm, spring in towbar frame mounting). Also dodzee was telling me with their bars on the saf that mud and shit would get pushed in between the bar and the body and make dents. I made mine lean out a little and havnt had a problem in the truck swallowing ruts up here. I know its not an issue down there but since you own a shiney now you might actually care about dents on it

Finished the rear bar, its got a quick release centre set up for tow bar, tow hook, bike rack, etc, as well as tow points on left and right hand side for affixing D shackels.
I'm hearing your thoughts Mike as to the upright bars, as my last ones did the dents that you're taking about, i've made these ones closer to the body and shorter, hopefully that does the trick.
They bar came up real nice, matches the front and side bars a treat

Finished rear bar......

Looking good Tim, Mike is right on the money about protection bars, I have panels pushed in from mud build up,broken tail lights from bush and sticks getting caught in the rear vertical bars and perfect outlines of my bars from body movement. Mind you what would the damage be like with out the protection bars. When you wire up your spotties use 2pin plugs so you can remove them, Mr Hella makes very good Lights but he doesn't make them waterproof.

KEEP IT SHINEY ------- YEAH RIGHT.

got the exhaust done yoday, 2.5 inch and a straight through muffler.
I went to Kaiapoi exhaust and mufflers as I had a contact that recommended him as it's under new management.
A post for him.... absolutely fantastic service, he's a performance engine expert, his workmanship is second to none, and prices are competitive.
Oh and the exhaust sytem is fantastic as well

Well done Tim - looking forward to seeing it in action. No doubt you will have a few wee things to sort out as you prove it.

Hey you weren't heading up the northern motorway in the peanut on wed night were you? There was a wee peanut-colour 'hatzu heading up there (forward) with its reverse lights shining brightly
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

I've been mucking around with castor to get things tweaked the best and have it sorted now.
Can tell you I've had castor as much as 6 degrees (death wobble :( )and as little as 1.8 degrees(light steering :( ), the very best spot for this SAS was at 3 degrees, just right with the weight in the steering and no death wobble :D
Many thanks to 4wdaccessories for letting me use the press and muck around with bushes
