Solid front axle surf???

I am looking at swapping out the IFS on my surf for a beam axle from a hilux was just wanting to know how hard, what it reqiures, and anything else that may help before i dive in and get into the shit

There is plenty of off the shelf kits that require a bit of technical knowhow and welding skills.

There are cheaper alternatives though, check out some of the build threads on here - I believe HoseHustler has a thread documenting his coil spring solid axle swap.

plenty a guys on here that can do it with there eyes closed, done and dusted over a long weekend, leaf sprung conversion

its easy now that ive done it. id do it again. i used a bundera/lj70 landcruiser front end
LN130 Surf: Coiled SAS, 35" BFG M/T's, Lifted, Rear Lockright, Snorkel, CB, On-board air
Soon to be 3.8 commy powered, front ARB Air Locker, custom bar work, winch...

im gona do mine once back in chch but im just gona do budget build leaf set up and then im planning on commy v6 engine swap

I have got a 2001 sr5 hilux that im just about got all the solid front in getting a diff for it 2moro it wasnt to hard i got the sump cut so it could get as much travel as it can. its not as nice to drive on the the road but at the end off the day its way better. its cost me so far just under 3500 to swap, i got the kit off SNR4X4 and i wouldnt go any wear alse there helpful and now there stuff at the end of the day.( Also if you have 2 get a 3.7 hilux diff to macth the back its like trying to find gold getting 1 shity late model crap)

do you need a 3.7 diff head?? i mite be able to get you one
SASed Isuzu Mu - hilux diffs, Rears up front, disc brake conversion, ifs hub swap, crossover steering, and legal!!!!

price im unsure of, 2006 i think hilux, id have to check
