whats l.p.g setup worth

Post by J_Dub »

as ive just brought a daily driver, my mud toy has been premoted to weekend driver only, so im thinking of getting rid of the l.p.g setup, couple reasons being it will run better being dedicated to 1 fuel, it sits up behind diff, so by removeing it its one less thing to get caught up, dont need 2 fuel tanks for a weekend toy, reducing weight and the fact i could make a few hundy off it. so whats it worth? its a 60ltr tank with up to date wof etc

Try a day out running on petrol through the carby before removing it, you will probably loose the petrol tank first,

Put it on Trademe and see what you get. It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay. I sold one a couple of years ago for $300, but back then LPG was about 80c/l. Now it's about the same as petrol and not cost-effective, since it uses about 15% more fuel, and then theres cost of the annual check and all the other things you've mentioned. You may be best to just rip the tank out and cap all the hoses. Take the mixer off the carb but leave the regulator and plumbing in place so you can easily go back to LPG when the price difference starts to make it worthwhile again. That's what I've done...
