Intake manifold gaskets or exhaust manifold gaskets?

There are stainless exhaust manifold gaskets from Nissan you should use for turbo manifolds.

yeah i have the stainless exhaust gasket, its the inlet one that i need to find out about. the stock N/A one is a paper gasket, just wondering what the factory turbo ones are?? they must be something that can handle a few psi. i was only running 12 psi max aswell when it blew.

Not aware of any other types then. If you reused the original paper gasket, it may have had a tear in it that has popped out with increased pressure. I chuck a new one at mine whenever the manifold / cross-over pipe comes off.

also noticed there is a bit of oil in my intake manifold. there was some in the bottom of the air box, through the turbo and pipping into the stock manifold. the only place i can think of it comming from for it to be in the air box would be from the hose in the pictures below. is this a breather?? does it need to draw air from the air box?? any ideas on possible problems and solutions??

Thats your rocker-cover breather. Any oil vapour from the rocker-cover ends up in your air-box, where the oil condenses again, hence what you found.

I've got my rocker-cover breather dropping down into the RH chassis rail. Illegal I believe to discharge to the atmosphere, but my engine has EXCESSIVE blow-by, and drops so much oil that it will end up running on the oil and self-destruct.

I use to run a catch can just like the boy racers do. Th\at way it isn't vented to atmosphere, stops the oil in your inlet and also doesn't mean the engine will selfdestruct if you roll it. A deisel running on sump oil is pretty spectacular. We are rebuilding one at present because of it!
