I find it hard to beleive you have been up there that many times and don't see it fear to be advertising your huge level of experiance to make others trust you and come on your trip when your also pretty new to the game..
As per your sig, do you really have a 140mm body lift??

odviosuly havent been up 99999999999 times, but enough to know it well, i have half rolled there(slowly rolled onto side, but recovered), but caused no damage, over the time i have been there, it has become easier, ruts have cahnged and so has the path you take, if you want body damage there are still parts you could do to cause it in, but you bottom out last i tryed.... 140mm body raise yeah, 80-100m spring/shock + 40mm body spacer, orginally i didnt want it that high, but it was either put spacers in or cut alot of body out so my tyres would travel. but yeah i was told the spring/shock was somewhere between 80-100... funny thing is though i park up next to "4paws" who has same truck but with 33" tyres, and we are same height...

don't think i'll be going up after all this rain, have done it before in these conditons, although it was loads of fun :D , with a few guys pulling out i dont think id make it up without at least one other well set up truck. id have to agree with whats been said, a winch and recovery gear would de handy for any one heading up.

How did it go boys - river is running high and brown so I anticipate you stayed to the banks.

Have been thinking of trying out a new area I haven't done before and was contemplating exploring tomorrow but the Ashley will be a too high and brown for crossing for the intended route.
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

yeah where do i start, started off a trip ended up abit of a serious recovery, had Yetis truck with a strop on it attacthed to the side of my truck to stop it rolling, wait better start how i think i ended up there, was heading home came to a few dead ends so turned aorund and started headign the way we came it, came to a rivery part with abit of a rut on it running down the side, was driving along that and started gonig sideways, before i know it my right front tyre was over the edge and my truck was almost tappering... so called on the radio i was stuck.. so yeah we tryed reversing me back but jsut went on more of a angle and slid in abit more... so we tryed driving forward to try get the front of my truck into the river.. but more of an angle.. we fluffed around for like 2hours scratching our heads, and we got onto our cellphones, yeti gave me a guys number who towes people out, but that was to expensive ($400) and then a club came in haha and saved me, but yeah my truck has a nice poo pond fragrance and soaked upto the windows, has a nice clangity bang when your driving aswell but cant find the source of it, but it goes forward though so its fine

is this due to your soiled undies?
hope it was a good day out, and good news that no serious damage to people or trucks were done. 400 is probably pretty cheap compared to a new cab, just ask dean ha ha..

na i have snapped my rear shocks, thats what all the clunking is in the rear, but hopefully you can just re-weild new screws into the top part of them, rather than just replacing the whole shock itself.... we didnt go to the waimak mate, we went to ashley river

i have driven that bit twice and been passenger once once both in sprung over 70 cruisers and it does get a good lean on and it is quite deep.it is worrying as if you go over and in your truck will be interesting to get out off,on the xmas eve trip i ran on here there are pics of trucks stuck in there but they arent in the deep hole where nick was heading,as this peice of track becomes more worn great care will need to be taken,it dosent look much

just my 2c
on my 3rd POS 70 cruiser still havent learnt
