2jzge auto ecu, will it work with a maunal gearbox?
2jzge auto ecu, will it work with a maunal gearbox?
Ok so I'm looking into doing a 2jzge conversion into my 85 yn60 with a w56 gearbox, does the existing auto ecu work, or should I try to source a manual ecu? If the auto ecu works is there a wiring diagram around to keep me on track?

theres a couple of wires you have to bridge so the engine thinks its in drive. Otherwise it thinks its in neutral and totally changes the fuel/ power curve etc

Thanks NZhunter, there's ef-all relyable info out there on this kind of swap. Do you know where I could find a wiring diagram?

When you convince it it is in a gearlook at the wireing diagram (if you can find one) and wire it into second gear 1st is lean second is slightly rich third is not so rich fourth is slightly lean so best power and relyability for all around driving is second if you push them hard in 1 or 4 in lean they get too hot

pm hiriklux he rigged his auto ecu to work with a manual. The looms are different between auto and manual so you can't just swap the computer.

Cheers guys for the help, I ended up calling Trc toyota in Feilding, and the answer is YES, an auto ecu will work with a manual box as long as the park/neutral start is bypassed. Although it was mentioned that the power would be down a bit compared to a manual ecu.
