Updated foreast is for Rain http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/b ... v_business (its certinaly looking very murky here at Wainuivegas at the moment

So do we replace this with a shiny trip round red rocks as suggested and then an optional overnight and sunday play at Rallywoods??? (shiny's can jump in free seats)

Whats happening trip leader??????

I think it sounds like a plan

Well its raining here in the tropical Horowhenua, But looking at the Met site, seems to be clear over Wellington

I will be leaving here soon, if someone could let me know before 7-30 whats happenin, that would be great

If the Wainui trip is canned, Me and Ryan will be headin to redrocks and all are welcome to join us, say meet at the carpark at 9-30

Cheers

The rain has just arrived in Stokes Valley so it is coming, and its close.

I have woken up with a ripper of a head cold (man flu' ) so I'm taking some drugs and going back to bed.

Packed the wagon with lunch stuff, wet weather gear, 4wd boots fort Siwsan, got a bottle of milk so we could have tea or coffee at break time and set off.

Second time I have been over Wainui hill, must be an omen.....

n\Near the bottom there wuz this strange lurch followed by a tinkling noise..... Uh oh..... fukkit...!!!!

Near the bottom, musta been Jeri's evil influence, he lives over there. doesn't he?

Next corner, oooooooo running a bit wide........... hmmm, rev counter dropped to zero revs.......... charge light on...... raining like god had forgot his promise to Noah....

Pull into a closed and empty service station.
Up with the bonnet.......... FARK!!! belt all loose.... idler pulley has shat itself. Limp back to Aro Road, stopped three times to allow it to cool down
Stuck in Wellington until at least Wednesday while I try to locate and have delivered the replacement.

ONE day, I will make it all the way down the Wainui Coast Road....

Sorry to miss you Bob

Pam and I joined the group on a very wet Saturday for the cruise around to Ocean Beach where we left to visit a mate in Masterton - most chose to make the return trip to camp at Barny's or then carry on to Rally Woods.

I even got to use my spade

Once again, a big thanks to Marty etc who organised this trip, and to all you you guys who turned up for it. It was great to catch up with yous all again, and to spend some time 4 wheelin' with yous.

Was a good trip, bit wet, but interesting all the same. Sorry couldn't stay the night at Rallywoods, but unfortunately had prior commitments for today. And I forgot my camera (for the 1st time ever) so no pics.

Look forward to catching up again soon.

With the weather looking a bit unpredictable it seemed the easiest thing to do was turn up at the coast on saturday morning and see what it was like and work out our best options so we ended up with about 20 trucks heading off around the coast to Corner Ck, we lost a few that decided to park up in Barneys Whare drinking beer for the weekend  . It didnt take long for somebody to know someone at one of the huts around at Corner Ck so we parked up there for an hour or so in the rain coz we were all getting a bit thirsty before heading back and shooting up to Green Hut at Rallywoods for the night, dont ask me why but whenever we had a mechanical breakdown on the way back the rain became farking torrential? :?

We ended up with a pile of new faces up at Rallywoods so I guess there'll be a few new forum users popping up on here shortly. We did a wee night drive up to the donut hole and around a few of the short tracks up there, fark they were fun and slippery

The Wainui Coast trip is being re-organised for 14-15 March, we just need confirmation from kiwi4x4 to re-run this and will stick a new trip thread up

Marty, "The Big Coast" bike ride is scheduled for that same weekend and the route comes around that same bit of the South Coast. See http://www.bikenz.org.nz/bigcoast/ for details.

Might want to think twice about that weekend
