Beer night at WilliamHamilton's (Wairapara)
Beer night at WilliamHamilton's (Wairapara)
William has offered us the use of his place for a beer night in Carterton, Plan is to help him pull apart his new parts FJ40 then have a play in his small bottom paddock, then have a BBQ and some liquid refreshments, thinking 7/8 March???

Re: Beer night at WilliamHamilton's (Wairapara)
I will also work on finding some more interesting playgrounds too. Local rivers are pretty good at the moment with easy access down to them form the road but depends what rain has been like. Need to check in with some of the farms but most are precious about their grass up my way (so little rain till just recently).
Colour of cans wil be orange, meat will be pink. If that is of concern that is not my problem (unless you are a good mechanic and hard worker and teaching me things then you tell me what you want to eat and drink
If anyone is goibg to Dram Fest (http://www.dramfest.co.nz/)in Chch this weekend and would like to share some samples of what they purchased while there..... mmmm bring them with you.
cheers all

And I guess the fire bit may be out of the question concidering how dry the Wairarapa is at the moment, whos got the gas BBQ?

I'd be pretty keen to go over to the mad scotchman's place but I think the only weekend I have free in March is the following one?

Actually we have one that is a right painin the ass and likes to escape the paddock and eat the lawn.. you can chase this back into the paddock each time.

Fire by permit only up this way and they do get a bit sensitive. We have BBQ and portable gas cooker if we head out somewhere.

Re: Beer night at WilliamHamilton's (Wairapara)
I will start doing some shopping this week for MORE beer (keg or cans). Depending on numbers I can send one of the lambs down the road and hire a spit for the weekend too. Any guide to numbers would be great
A note for the blokes who have partners.. this weekend is also Martinburough Fair weekend http://www.martinboroughfair.org.nz/ A nice romantic weekend in the Wairarapa is always nice
In addition to beer.. what else should I be buying...
Jobs I am keen to attack are
[*]Swap diffs between cruisers replacing the broken internals in one. So diff oil.. any recomendations?
[*]Drink beer
[*]Transfer powersteering from one to other - New fluids I am sure is worth it.
[*]Drink beer
[*]Decide on whether it is worth swapping gear boxes as the ex Gazza POS feels like a tighter box (now I am sure Skid may think something else with that statement) How big a job is this - never swapped a gear box before and would it be worth it?
[*]Drink beer
[*]Drink beer
[*]Drink beer
Somewhere amongst this could be some eating and driving. I am trying to get access to some local land or if the rain holds off for a bit the rivers can be good fun and can drive a decent way.
While I have smart folk around what other things should be looked at?
(Electricals are pissing me off still if anyone knows much there I am all ears!!!!!!!!)
Currently diffs are open, are LSDs worth it or should I just wait and get a locker later? ($$$$$$$)
End result I would like to be able to fit 35" underneath and like the idea of shackel reversal and extension.
Ok rambling over need a whisky. mmmm Edradour Straight from the cask delicious!
cheers

I will head into the shed mid morning after Daddy duties. Any time that works for you is all good.
What tools do I need to make sure I have available? I will be shopping for fluids tomorrow (for car and us).
cheers

Intermittant failure to start is the main issue.. It looks like some dodgy wiring at the fuse block. I have a new spade block if needed but was looking to use as an aux.

Hope they don't chase the sheep to much.... other wise Blubba will be able to catch them and have his way with the sheep...

Blubba was done on purpose as well due to his comments in other threads
