Im in the process of pulling it all out so il let you know once ive done it.How do you get the front axles out??,Im going to run a toyota v8/supra 5 speed combo so it isn't goin to drive the front axle, ive been told that you can remove the front axles and head and the front hub will hold the drive flanges etc on.Is this true?

You have to take the swivel hub off to get all the axle out

You could run it without the axle but... the bearing is lubed by the oil in the axle so you would have to make a plate to cover the hub end where the axle cap is and one for the diff head and fill it up to the level, just thinking about it I'd overfull it as the axles would carry oil from the diff out as they spun, so I'd over full it to make up for that

I'd be interested in what bellhousing / addapter plate setup you use on this as I'm considering the same in another project

Cheers, I Think I'll leave the front axles and diff head in there and pull it all outnext year when i change the front suspension. For the toyota v8 setup theres 3options I know of,That guy in waihi makes a bellhousing that will bolt the v8 to the box or you can find an adaptor plate or my friend who does the coversion alot takes the auto bellhousing has it cut and machined and welded to the gearbox cut and machined bellhousing.
