Changed the water pump (was leaking), thermostat (nothing wrong, just precautionary as I was in there), both upper and lower hoses (again, just precautionary). Of course it gets new coolant with this much playing in the cooling system. Ran out of day light to properly test everything. Hopefully there is no more leak tomorrow.

well friday wis the only time i had to work on the surf, had to re-install the new steering column after the old one poo`d itself when i did the body lift. It turns out it was missing the circlup that holds the 2 parts together. POS...

And fitted my 33's N889's ... looks so much more agressive now.

Also chucked some 3" speakers in the dash, so i have maaaddd soundz au now.

left to do.
Get after market torsen bars fitted [i couldnt do it :'( = Fail ]
Fit new seats
Fit new manual Drivers window reg and get new handle
Change engine oil
Change box/transfer oil
Change diff's oil
source new rear window relay (it has an intermittent fault, but will go down eventually)
Get my horn working again. (pulled the fuse out for the column swap, now wont go) ...
Maybe wire up the rear speakers..

And then i`m ready to do sweet jumps :D

Pretty easy really, i just used lots of wood and a jack, under the body sill (to spread the load) and did one side at a time,

Afterthought , its a good idea to leave the handbrake off, loosen the steering colimn, and undo the shifter surround.

And keep track of what bolts/washers go where.

Just pulled my front wheel off to check something under there and see I have lost a stud and the other three are loose!

Where did you get your replacement studs from Sadaam? I'll be needing one along with its cone washer, washer and nut.
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

Really! Will you really call in so I can have my own special look at this shopping cart?!

Except if you are arriving Picton 11pm, that puts you in here at about 2:45am (plus unloading those tahs and talking to Dave) and its no longer Friday then!

Now we don't want to go over loading it either!

You don't happen to have a spare rear full floating hub do you Marty? Happy to top your bank account up a little.

I found I'd lunched the ring & pinion, which had punched the small hole out the bottom of the alloy housing.

Outside housing:

Spare bits swimming around inside:

What is likely to have caused this?

That looks very familier... I would be keen to know the cause as well. Although I know when it happened - when trying to climb a rock step, crossed up some, still loading everything with momentum to get past it (unsuccessfully).

Any ideas gratefully received - I have some knead-it holding the diff oil in, and am pretty sure I have drained the broken teeth out...

they blow like that when 1 wheel comes off the ground and lands again with your foot up it, the spider gears or c+p teeth fall in to the bottom and as there isnt much room they make a little bit more for themselves  , i used to tig mine up but the last few i just cleaned it and scuffed it and used nutech bog , little bit each side and it is fixed , ther is no pressure so it stays there till you break another(which wont be long).having a locker or welded rear diff helps this by being able to go a bit easier on the gas, i ran out of spares so both of mine are welded.
