Starter motor

Post by RJ »

Hi team,

Has anyone got a diagram for removal and disassembly of the starter motor on our 92 SWB 3.0 V6 6G72. We are still having issues with the starter motor. I am up to the stage of now having to get under and gently persuading it, with the use of a hammer, that it needs to work. So thinking the starter motor is full of crap or the solenoid is on its way out, I will remove the unit and check it out. I had a look today and can only see 2 bolts holding the starter motor in, is there another I can't see. Fair to say I wasn't overly impressed with the way its elbowed in there and then its location down low. But I guess thats a "Mitsi" thing.

If anyone has a diagram they can email, would be greatly appreciated. Email to 92pajero@kol.co.nz

Cheers

Only two bolts RJ, one main lead and one plug to activate the solinoid.

They are normallly pretty good, mine has had many many many dunkings (incl muddy water) and never missed a beat.
