Yes you can get more power. But to do it you need both boost and fuel increased.
To do that and not melt anything you need either a dyno with an oxygen sensor shoved up the exhaust or boost and EGT gauges.

I don't know how robust the TD27T's are, the TD42's have a great rep but is the TD27 simply a shorter version?
Some engines spit headgaskets and precombustion chambers with more boost and fuel.

TD27 is a TD42 with effectively 2 cylinders cut off. Pistons etc are interchangable as are timing chain covers etc.
So they are good for similar mods and performance gains. 14 to 16psi is a pretty safe boost for them and with the pump tuned accordingly you'll get some decent increases in power.
Nissan Terrano coilovers, turboed VH45, Safari axles, and some other stuff.

Winding the boost up cools the EGT's, it's only if you up the fuel that you have to worry.

I've found winding up the boost without the fuel can give you a little more midrange torque at the expense of topend power. A little more torque as increases the dynamic compression ratio but less power at higher revs as it takes a lot of power to pump extra air around.

it sure does,i noticed the difference straight away, now the buzxz has died and i want more boost lol,but i know not to...dont fell like swapping motors out again!

nope not monitoring egts.

my truck tends to run abit colder than other trucks, because ive got no inner guards.so air cooling in the engine bay is increased.

well on mrs 2.4 surf i have put the 3 inch exhaust but was thinkin of putting 2.8 injectors and pump followed by intercooler and winding up the boost a bit im not that mechanically minded but is that another option

Are the 2.8 injectors and pump bigger (fuel delivery wise) than the 2.4 turbo?

you probably won't hit the limit of the stock pump and injectors without doing major mods.
2.8 injectors will be similar sized (2.4 turbo and 2.8 are similar in power). i have heard of people fitting pump and injectors off the 3 litre.
don't forget things like pre cups, cams etc.
