Yeh I know, with dielectric grease on all the electric connecters, a sponge in the breather hoses, silicon the computer and in my case the electric 2wd/4wd locker and lcd meter unit but with going that deep what about the switch assembles behind the firewall which can be hard to get at and my biggest worry the alternator.

you'll probably find that as long as the intake is sealed, the diff breathers are extended, and the computer is sealed up (in a box or something) everything else will be fine (fresh water that is). Its dirty water which will ruin everything so its advisable in pretty much everything to keep out.
The alternator and switches will be fine
