pulled front locker assembly out of trials truck, locker ring burred up and jamming, now going to clean it up and send to the steel hardeners in Auckland to see if they can get it right the second time!! also noticed the front stay bar is ripping a large chunk out of the front diff housing, more steel and more migging to come up.

Did a body lift on the Mu to allow me to run my new 33's in the next Laurie Sanson. It was SO easy - only bit I forgot was to remove the fan shroud FIRST before I did the lift. It would have been easier to remove if the fan hadn't been jammed against it. :(

Today I'll pop back down the workshop and fit up the 33's and possibly BFH the sharp edges under the guards - just in case :D

Broke 4 1/2 inch power bars trying to get an axle nut off to change wheel hub/bearing. Then once sorted (with a 3/4 inch bar and a 4ft extension) managed to partially strip a thread on the brake calliper. Only took two days to do an hours work.

Fixed the rear driveshaft (it had lost the grease plug from the yoke). It required removal/re-fit of the u-joint.

Rotated tyres and adjusted rear brakes (I know it pointless to do that on a Wrangler, but then I was in there any way).

Greased everything and noticed the boot on the joint between drag link and pitman arm was split. Something to do next weekend I guess.

finally got rear bar made up for me surf, bit late though, already staked both rear corners and smashed a lens, as you can see, that will all get fixed in good time.
So now i got some rear recovery hooks, these surfs dont have any factory rear tow points at all

Wow, looks damn good, thats a lot like what i want to make for mine, except i "want" somewhere on the rear to put my spare, thinking a hinge type thing similar to terrano's and later model surf's.

yea i was contimplating that, but decided i didnt want the leverage off the bar.
instead, as ive pulled out my rear seats the spare sits in the well where the seat used to be, sits real snug, and its tied up against the side, going to modify rear seat so that can still seat 2 in the back with the spare still where it is.
