Re: lpg 2jz hilux not running
So was it after the alternator being wired up or the dizzy coming out that it stopped?
How many volts have you got? Should be pretty easy to pull the cam cover and time the dizzy back in properly. Pull the plug on the alternator and you should be good to go if that is the problem.
Matt.

Re: lpg 2jz hilux not running
Have you retimed the dizzy properly?
Have you got enough volts for the motor to run properly? Often if the voltage is low the motor will crank and catch but not start properly if the ECU isn't getting enough voltage.

Re: lpg 2jz hilux not running
i mean i think i have fixed it, checked the voltage and its 12.57v it will start but then it stalls right away

Re: lpg 2jz hilux not running
Does it actually start and run then stall or does it catch and stall?
If it's catching and stalling it has to be dizzy timing or you do actually have a fuel problem under load.

Re: lpg 2jz hilux not running
ok got a timing light and got that sorted, still not starting, any ideas?

Re: lpg 2jz hilux not running
So whats it actually doing? You say it's starting then stalling, now you say it's not starting.
You need to be a bit more descriptive with the problem if you expect people to help you remotely over the internet.

Re: lpg 2jz hilux not running
ok sweet
its the same as it was before i fixed the timing it is hard to start ,then it does but only for a few seconds, then it stalls, its hard to explain sorry for the little detail

Re: lpg 2jz hilux not running
Is your fuel pump strong enough to crack the EFI system back pressure?
I had to get a decent, high pressure pump to run the fee8 as the crack pressure on the fuel injection was more than the pump I was using could deliver. It would start and run, but as soon as you loaded it in any way, it would die.

Opps my bad
(didn't take any notice of the LPG part of the title)

Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!
Re: lpg 2jz hilux not running
its not the ballast resistor is it?had a similar fault on a car.It had full 12volts on starting & 6volts when running to save dis points life.is their power to the disy when key turned onto the run position?
Re: lpg 2jz hilux not running
It's either compression, spark or fuel.
You need to be 100% that the dizzy is timed correctly - hard to start is often a timing problem but it could also be fuel.
I have no experience with LPG so can't really advise there but I would be looking to use a fuel substitute to see if it starts and runs if you are sure that the dizzy is set correctly and that each plug is firing.
Easy to check each plug, pull it and sit it against the engine block and crank it.
