What are the biggest tyres that fit on a Standard landcruiser vx 80 series?

I've got 35s on at the moment, 10 inch rims as well.

Just running saggy 400,000kms standard suspenison, rubs quite a bit for the first few kms then they get chewed out enough and only pipe up every now and then.

33s will be fine, then 35s with a 2" lift to give enough clearance.

Yes, 35x12.5x15 on 15x10 rims.

mine has 285/75/16's and they are spot on i reckon. why do you want bigger tyres? its only a mall crawler in Auckland isnt it??

My brother in laws got goodyear wrangler 33 x 12.5 x 15s on his and had no issues stock standard

i have 35" 12.5 / 15 on my vx but i have a twisty supention so i can rub with 4" lift

Yeah no probs the wagon just eats it up(mind you factory difflocks front and rear helps),tracks can get a bit narrow in places and there not the slimmest of trucks,he reckons he should have gone 35s

33" tahs on 15 x 8.5" rims +34 offset

saggy suspension, with a load in the back has been known to rub a little whilst bouncing round corners on the desert road

I heard they increased the size of the brakes when the increased the motor to 24v and so 16's are the go for the newer model...is this true...?? or do 15 still fit...

The rear brakes prevent 15" tyres being fitted. The calipers fowl. I may be wrong, but I tought it was about 91-92 on that the bigger brakes were fitted, so even later 12 valves will require 16" rims.

Looking at the kumho kl71 tyres for a vx landcruiser, just trying to decide between 33s or 35s. Anyone able to point out the pros and cons of each? From what i understand, 33s would fit with out any mods. Would 35s fit with just a 2" suspension lift? Do the 80 series need to have castor correction bushes fitted like the safaris do when lifting/increasing tyre size? Cheers..

Also, just curious as to how badly either 33s or 35s effect fuel economy? (diesel turbo manual vx)

35s with a 2" lift will be fine, you dont need to do any castor correction at that lift size.

When I chucked my 35s on I opened up the boost and since putting it back to standard I haven't done one full tank on road.

Mines manual too and on 31s would get 700kms to the fuel light, the best I've got on the 35s is 550kms but that involved one day of offroading.

As far as a suspension lift goes, any recomendations as to what spring/shocks combo works best for the landcruiser? How hight would you recommend, 2, 3, 4" ?
