Post by Armz »

Im finally going to mount my hi lift Jack onto my spare tyre carrier on the back of the Terrano
Its a pretty comon mod for the terranos I see it done heaps, Im just trying to work out how best to do it, So if Someone can post some pics of how they did theres and/or advice so I can see it would be great

Cheers Guys.

BTW id really perfer an option that I can do with no drill, grinder, welder, surplus steel or spending money...... mmmm the joys of bin a broke student or otherwise doing all the above lol

I put mine on behind the spare tyre with the base plate hanging over the hinges on the right hand side. Pics are long gone from this site. Just cut some 2" angle iron welded together to make a T then welded onto the tyre holder. Drilled holes for mounting bols and welded them in.

makes it a bit of a challenge if you dont want to drill, gring weld or anything. It sort of limits you to just tying it on some how, what about a couple of big u bolts through the carrier or spokes of your wheels.. Your a student im sure you can use duct tape and cable ties

That could be a plan, might just have to invest in a cheap drill and grinder.

I use to mount it on my spare using a piese of m12 threaded rod passsing through an unused wheel stud hole in the spare. No drilling or welding required and you can remove the rod when not being used.
