I saw this trip advertised and wondered where the Firewood Loop was. I checked with Reece, received the warnings on possible damage but still decided to go and see for myself.
My little Escudo will always struggle when the ruts get deep and the bogs get deeper but with a lot of help from Mark (and considerable use of my strop) I made it round. It was pleasing to note that even those with lots of clearance had difficulty in some places.
Apart from a radiator clogged with mud and a hot engine on the way home, a good damage free day.
I will now mark the Firewood Loop as having been done and will leave another trip round it until I have bigger wheels and more clearance.

Thanks again to Mark for the tows and to Reece and Marty for organising this trip.

Anytime Graeme.

Glad you enjoyed it. The track was dry compared to the last time I drove it...
Still a good track.

Catch you next time...

Thanks for organising another cool trip Reece
had 13 trucks start and 11 made it through, the track was hard and dry so it made it pretty easy going this time although everyone needed pulling through the last hole as usual, shit poor old Jafas truck got so badly wedged in the hole coz of its width it was harder to pull through than the 5 ton safaris..... cool truck jafa and thanks for the ride

Ended up towing Thrashers truck home today after giving up on trying to get the solid block of mud out of the radiator, had to make a quick stop at Reece's on the way for a cuppa and waterblast my radiator out a bit as well

So whens the next Aka's trip

Edit*
Oh yeah and another broken windscreen :?

WARNING: This is what happens when you get bored and decide to drive off the track and go exploring.

And people laughed at my stinger, well so do I but i was frigging glad of it then. The pictures don't do it full justice but the stinger was the only thing stopping it from going right over (potentially)
