New to Wellington, Well new to NZ in fact.....help

Post by bazablue »

Hello to all

Been in NZ since Sept 08, living in Camborne (near Porirua), and I've set myself up thinking I want to go off roading, was given ORE to look at. But appologies not V computer literate so need help. :?

How do I go about actually joining the club and getting dirty, I've been out and bought myself a 1989 Hilux thats been tweaked for off road (much to the "oh my god whats he bought now" look from the misses).

I know (I think) perhaps the most basic of skills for off road driving and am keen to give it a go.

Can someone please point me in the right direction or details of a decent club around wellington

Cheers

Theres a numbers of clubs in Wellington, best advice is to check em out and find one that suits you. feel free to come out on a ORE or Kiwi4x4 (www.kiwi4x4.org.nz) trip. What do you drive and are you after more shiny or hard out trips

Hiya Baz, welcome to NZ, Wellington and the forum, we run quite a few wellington trips through this forum, most of them at Rallywoods or the Akatawara forest not far from you, keep an eye on the forum for upcoming trips and the guys will give you opinions of various wellington clubs you may want to join

Thanks for that, I'll keep an eye out for some trips cus I need to get out there and do it.

Oh yeah I've come from sunny Birmingham in the UK, which if any of you know is anything but sunny, the smog tends to get in the way.....

After a bit more than shiny trips, be good to get a bit stuck and look to who ever I'm with to get me out  , and have a
