Checked the oil in the truck and found black treacle
Thought thats not right, best I drop it out ...

Checked that I had oil and a filter found the drain tray
Pulled the plug out and it took a few seconds before the stuff that "was" oil started to ooze out.
I have never seen anything quite like it ...
It took about 3 hrs for 6 ltrs to drain out during which time I I got the filter off and discovered that the spare was for the wife's Surf
And the shops are shut and truck is in front of the only vehicle that still goes
So tomorrow Its off to get a couple of filters

I am looking for Ideas on cause the best way to clean it out

Sorted the rear bar on the Whale and off soon to Rallywoods for the night and then some driving and track clearing tomorrow.
Steve, stop watching crap on TV and get your fat ass up to Rallywoods, what is the point in owning a farken 4wd and only using it twice in three months???? Especially when you wanked on for so long about getting one. Even Jerry gets it up more often than you and his is a shiny one

zookfest dropped ma cruiser diffs and other parts off this morning, so bighorn has been parked up in the garage and the project has begun  . the plan is to pull out all the ifs, do solid axle swap with cruiser 4.1 diffs then swap the rear diff aswell, soa conversion, fit arb locker to the front and lockright to the rear, bodylift and fit some 35z or 37z.

Went for a drive through the Porika track yesterday, then Rainbow Station today.
On the way back from ChCh go held up by some idiot hitting the brakes into every corner, so managed to get past down a hill when he decided to pull over AFTER a slow vehicle bay ended, only to get to the bottom and get done by a cop for speeding
Oh, perfect timing, just when Albundy and Hosehustler senior were driving past

I know i wanked on about getting it and yeah it's only been used twice in the 3 months since getting it.
but not everyone can afford to go play willy nilly and i'm not gonna run the risk of a $200 ticket for running non registered. Have been waiting for the holiday pay that was owed due to the recievership at work which should be paid this week and truck will be registered this week as well. however truck will be getting a wash tomorrow
on that note i am keen to go play next weekend and even do an overnighter if there is one going on in the welly area (thought there was supposed to be a training weekend next weekend)

Finally started to get serious with the rebuild and get things done rather than just pulling stuff off

Has taken three days to get this far and tomorrow time to attack the body.

Image

Rear only needs to have a panhard rod built and then try and find out if ride height is correct before welding in place

Image

Front have mounted the lower trailing arms to diff and put fox shock mounts in. Will attach trailing arms to body the next time engine is out (prob tuesday). Found out that can't test ride height at front until panhard is in place as the truck nearly fell over when we lowered it.

Image

Have chewed through about 30 cutting discs over the last few days as we are plating everything so it doesn't pull the chassis apart. Managed to get a good chunk of hot metal in eye yesterday and finally gave in and went to doctor. He dug it out with a neddle and now nice indend in eye.

Engine is a 3.8L V6 ecotec Holden. Think transfer case is cruiser which we think is 60 series. Rapt that you can interchange cruiser and hilux driveshafts so didn't have to muck around modifying either flanges.
