Bad Seller - BARRY WILLIAMS of Wellington

This is how our friendly American 4WDing brothers deal with bad sellers... theres over 70 pages here on this one post and I killed a couple of late nights reading through to around page 50... its hillarious, mixed with a little bit scarey, mixed with some good old-fashioned mob-mentality. Lets find this Barry Maxwell and Wenzel the bastard!

Anyone have any ideas on who he is? Someone in the 4WD Community must know him if he's selling 4WD parts... Lets find this guy before he rips anyone else off...

Fergus, start looking at other people who've left feedback for him on trademe and see if you can contact any of them - someone might have an email, phone number or even better, an address for him.

Its probably more important to be careful that honest people don't get ripped off and see their hard earned money go down the toilet...

But I agree, make sure the right guy gets the message... and make sure the message is all nice and legal-like and that others (ie: family, friends etc) do not bear the brunt of this guys actions.

Big mistake by me - it's been so long since it happened that I got his name wrong- His name is Barry WILLIAMS not MAXWELL
My sincere apologies to any Barry Maxwells that have been offended.

I believe he drives/drove a 1988 Rangy as his TM moniker was rangerover_88.

Hey Furgus, Am I right thinking you're in the dental industry? cos if you are and you catch up with dodgey Barry you can knock his teeth out then charge him shitloads to put them back in again  win/win situation

But because I complained to TM his account has been disabled so I can't see any information on him at all!

This is fantastic. If you havnt read it, go have read of at least like the first 5 pages, where his full name, address, part of his phone number, his parents address..... come out into the open. The secret is don't rip people off.

Wel the trade was "completed" at the start of Aug last year - delays initially due to it having a worn bearing surface which he was getting sorted & then due to delays from his engineer - finally lost contact with him at xmas. I spoke with him today & this was because he hadn't used his hotmail account for a while & it had been shut down thus losing my contact details.

Yep - it arrived - but it looks like it needs some $ spending on it to make it right & he didn't send the switch& solenoid as asked - I'll just get new ones then I know they'll be right.
So thanks to all who gave advice on this - I could be real mean & publish lots more of his details ....... but that would be being petty & I'm above that ......... no really I am 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

if youi have a problem with it or it is not in the condition that he said , just get your money back and take your business elsewhere i reckn ! ( but hey i admit there are people around who take anything they possibly can ) also if your a trademe or ebay seller, the last thing you want is bad feedback responses , I am wary of that when i bid on stuff on trademe , always check their feedback ( and i won't buy from a totally new member if its a bit of money for the item , only pay for it in person ) !
