Interior Light Door Switch Wiring

Post by joeninetynz »

Sorry If it's not a hard core 4x4 questions, but she's still my daily drive.

I pulled the door switch out the door sill and some prick has cut the wire 10cm from the switch itself.

Can anyone share there knowledge or experi on how to re-thread a new wire for this problem.

Cheers man

Sorry I wish it was that easy. I can't see the other end of the wire since it inside the door sill.

I need to rehtread a new wire from its origin power supply (unknown) back to the door switch.

Does the wire come down the inside the body where the seatbelt are?

or

Does the wire come in from the underneath the dash, along through the door sill (from the door hinge area)?

Ah i now understand, how annoying. Im not so familar with suzuki's so might not be that helpful, if no one knows where the wire goes i would just be pulling a few pannels off and you could thread something down the hole like a peice of that blue band used for strapping boxes (breaking into cars) and find where it comes out, then you should find the same colour coded wire and hopefully you can chuck a new bit back through by extending it, attaching it to the band and pulling it through.

Did that make any sense, someone else may know exactly where it goes and have a better method of doing it..

Cheers Rangi for the input.

I was hoping to not pull all the panels out. But it's looking that way. I figured it not coming down through the seatbelt pillar. So it must be coming thru the door sill near the hinge. Hmm I was thinking the No.8 wire to thread it.

Splicing the wires is not an issue. Just finding the bugger!

The other guy is right you need to get access, the same thing was done to ours, the reason they are cut is when the door is open and the key is in the ignition the bloody thing beeps at you.
