35" tyres

Post by shaunandtamara »

Would king of lift would I need to fit 35" tyres on a 1993 v8 disco. or would I be better going for 33" tyres? Looking and getting some silverstone extreme tyres

Cloggy was forever bending tierods on his disco, he always carried a spare one in the back and his tyres were only about 31/32 inch, MrO also kept bending his tierod with 34 inch tyres and he had problems from the first time he took it out :?

35's and a standard rover drivetrain are not a happy match. Either stay with 33's or get ready for some breakage unless you drive like a Nana - and then a big bill for stronger axles diffs CVs and tie-rods - thats after you've done a body and spring lift. Or a rebuild with Nissan GQ drivetrain. Search the Outer limits board for details.

After breaking stuff I upgraded my 90 drivetrain to cope with Simex 35's and a 4.6 V8 but have left the disco on 33 MT's and drive it gently it is lasting OK
