1982 hilux engine/ brakes and suspension

Post by baby-lux »

I have a 82 toyota hilux 2wd ( :( not enuff money for the 4wd ) and i need to sort out the front brakes as they are rubbish and also want to sort out the suspension. Not sure weather to go really high or lower. Want to go high with huge tyres but not sure the lil engine will cope. PLEASE PLEASE i need some help. Any cheap engine performance enhancing tips for this would also be very greatful
thanks guys.

i got the R18 2 litre petrol, 4 speed column shift. I know its a lil stupid to stick huge tyres and mags on a 2wd but i couldnt find a 4wd from sale in my price range and in any decent condition. This hilux has onlt 151000 k's and it was cheap as hell as the guy need to clear it out of his driveway. Not so sure the engine would handle the lift and huge tyres. might just lower it but i dont know where to start with that either. Im use to driving twin turbo sports cars and now on the ute side of things so its all new to me.

That 2.8 of yours Suprasurf would go well in this vehicle. Could even use the supra/celica w55 5spd.
