Rear trac Bar

Post by RJ »

Hi Team,

Have been mucking around with the rear trac bar on our TJ. Can someone tell me what the measurement is from cent eye to cent eye of a factory rear trac bar on TJ Wrangler. I don't think ours is factory, it appears to be a bit short.

Cheers

As a direct line cent to cent ours measures 710mm, or there abouts. I suspect the factory standard one should be around 720-730mm. If anyone has a spare laying around they could check it would be appreciated.

Cheers

I measured mine still installed and it looks like 710 mm between centres. I'm not sure why you would shorten it, ARB sell a bracket that lowers the body end of the panhard rod to shift the axle after installing their 50 mm suspension lift, that might help you.

Hi team,

Just trying to decide what to do here. For all intense and purposes it would appear the rear trac bar on our TJ is short some 15-20mm. I am considering buying an adjustable rear trac bar to replace it with. Problem is I would want an adjustable rear trac bar that starts at the factory setting. Is an adjustable rear trac bar avialble with a minimum setting the same as the factory setting. Does anyone have any specs or knowledge of how these things work.
Further to that we have also got a broken front stabilizer link. I would consider getting quick disconnects but have the same issue. Do quick disconnects start at the factory setting.

Any thoughts

Cheers

im still happy to fab a bracket to sort that track bar!!!!!!! muha muha muhahahahaha.. let me at it....

Greg can get the warrior discos no prob. As discussed earlier bud, we can get the stock length ones in there and just cut tube to suit future lift height.

On another note alltogether chum.... ill have the 1.2m x 1.0m x 5mm plate tomorrow, and already have the 2in x 1in box and the 1in x 1in box in the garage ready to go.

Cool. I'd be very interested in knowing how it goes.

I'm toying with a small body lift and some sort of tummy tuck for mine as a first mod and then going with a smallish spring lift later heading toward a reasonably low CoG 35" end result. I don't really see the sense in shipping big heavy lumps of metal from the US or even Aus, so making the skid sounds like the way to go to me.

sorry RJ, hijacking your thread.....

Theyre up around $400 USD and essentially theyre a lump of steel. Looked at a few on some sites, some are pretty trick two piece jobbies, some are very simple. Ive made a template for one thats very basic, and have the ability to add some "height" back onto it if things dont go quite to plan with driveline angles etc.

Will see how it goes, might be able to sell a few at some nice cheap $$$$... hehe, another excuse to extend the garage....

It might be simpler than you think.
