buying advice.

Post by aotror »

Hi I was just wanting some help with buying a bighorn and have some questions.

I was looking at a 94 3.1 diesel automatic, its got OK tyres 190000 km's fairly tidy. What kind of dosh would be a good price to pay for this wagon?

I read somewhere on this site that some of the later ones had weaker CV's or suspension bits than the earlier ones. Is there any truth to this and if so how do i know if this one has the better bit's or not?

What is the difference between the ones that have the lotus handling and the later ones which dont specify that they have it?
do they handle as good or are they any different at all? Also do the irmsher ones have the lotus handling? is it any better or worse off road?

Would I be better off getting a 2.8? it sounds like they are a bit less fragile than the 3.1.

Whats the best model and year to go for?

Was also considering a 96 model 2.7 diesel terrano but like the extra room that the bighorn has for my bike and other bits I carry now and then. Any opinions as the pro's and con's of either choice would be appreciated too.

Any other advice/considerations when choosing a bighorn? Realistically its80% town use and the rest getting out in the bush as far as it is capable of, although I like the idea of it being more offroad oriented so I can go more places..

Cheers.
