Why not bite the bullet and get an old CO2 extinguisher?
It'll work out heaps cheaper in the long run.
Firewatch in Whangarei sells the extinguisher cylinders.

You can buy them from Mitre 10 to suit the Soda stream bottles or you can also get adaptors to go from a full size C02 Reg to the Soda steam bottle.

hi that sounds like the way to go, do the people in whangerei refill them ? its a little far to go to fill it up though about an hour down to whangerei for me. thats 2 hours driving to fill a bottle. thanks for the info but might have to go see the useless mitre 10, tryed getting reg from them before but gave up as couldnt get one to fit so took all back for me money back.

Firewatch and T&L Testers both fill them. Firewatch is heaps cheaper.
Supagas should have a depot here by June....rumour is they moving to Winger Cres. Springs flat so even closer to you even if only a bit.
You're right that 2 hours is a bit of a drive just to fill a bottle but how often are you going to need to fill it?
I bought a brand new 6.8kg cylinder full of CO2 and an adaptor to fit my argon reg for $350.
So far I done more welding with the CO2 than I got out of an "F" size argosheild.
