supra powered hilux

Post by 86-surf »

okey dokey.
after going for a ride in a supra powered hilux(non turbo'd, Not sure what supra engine it was)
i have now fallen inlove,
any ways, i have found a w58 bellhousing for $40, only problem is, its for a g series engine,
what i'm wanting to know is, how much harder is the g series engine over the 7mgte to get into a 2nd gen surf?.

after searching thru 66ish pages of g series engines on here, and not finding anything useful i decided to post this up.

cheers

a 1g powerer hilux??? LOL
honestly sell that bell housing and stick with your original plan 5/6/7mge or 1/2jzge
i had a 1g-gte supra a few years back and it was a slug with constant turbo problems, big car- small tourqeless motor
(2.0L 6cyl)
the 1ge cressidas wer worse
im not condeming them, their a great motor for a starlet or trueno but not for 4wd's

you could allways take the same path as me and do a 1uz-fe conversion, motors and parts are geting cheaper

back to your original question it will be no harder to install than any other 6cyl just different (custom mounts, fuel source, cooling, exaust, intake, hook up the efi, ect

let us know what you do

the go-kart is his test bench

first fit supra motor to kart and test

once happy it will work

then install into surf
