Hey I was just wondering where I could find a boss kit for my 1993 SWB Suzuki Vitara? I want to fit a new steering wheel to it when I get back.
any Help?

Boss kit for Vitara
Re: Boss kit for Vitara
I got one of mine through Trademe, and the other one through Beaurepaires.

Re: Boss kit for Vitara
Hate to be a sad prick, BUT.
I recently ordered a cheap boss kit and steering wheel off trademe from two separate sellers. Both brand new.
I got two of the cheapest lightest weakest pieces of shit EVER to the point where I was unable to install either in my truck.
The boss kit was incredibly thin walled cast aluminum and was 1/4 the weight of any boss kit seen before.
I bent the steering wheel with my bare hands after installation.
These things have the potential to get a hammering while off road- do yourself and everyone a favor and buy a reputable brand like momo- or even something you can buy at repco. I love saving money but not on shit like that.

Cool thanks for the heads up. I will most likely get one from at least Repco.
just sometimes you should not save money on the important things.

Agreed, but you can get reputable brands through trademe if you deal with decent traders and do your homework. Both ny boss-kits are good enough quality and I only put decent wheels on them. (Momo by preference).
Repco tend to be incredibly expensive.

Yeah.
I guess there is really cheap.. and then there is really really cheap. I went with really really cheap.
Racing steering wheels + slow 4wd's are gay imo. I'd go find one out of a suzuki car of some description and its likely the spline etc will be the same .
I ended up going with an S14 silvia steering wheel for my nissan. Paid $70 for it delivered. It looks nearly factory, is leather bound and very comfortable.

Re: Boss kit for Vitara
does anyone know if sj413 and escudos have the same steering spline?
Re: Boss kit for Vitara
Sorry, don't know for sure, but I think they are the same. I used a boss-kit from a 413 in the first escudo for a while and that fitted with no problems.
I find the factory steering wheels a bit too big overall, and narrow in the grip. A nice 13 to 14 inch chunky leather wheel is a delight to use off-road, but I don't think you want to go any smaller than 13 inch.

Yes. It appears most suzuki models are interchangeable. I used a 410 one on a vitara so I could move it round the yard. I have been using swift gti steering wheels on my previous 410 and currently on my 413. Nice size wheel and good size "grip"
