help on front diff please?

ok all you filthy dirty nissan owning b'stards that may be in the know......... *nibz snickers*

i need to find out if theres a front diff lsd styles for the 'd21' i think it is, diff? (hes got a solid axle terrano front diff me thinks..) the ratio's not that important as he has a seperate crown wheel and pinion to use.. just pretty much need the central inner nugget thingy whatsit (thats the technical term) that is lsd..

are there any other options he could use in the front? no, not arb either..

any help or further info needed to provide helpful answers would be muchly appreciated...

terranos come out ifs and i never heard or seen of a lsd front diff in a terrano nor navara

you /or your mate has a terrano with a solid axle in the front ,which is open and he wants to put a lsd diff in there?

if that is correct,what sort of axle is he using in the front??

No d21 came with a solid front axle factory. It is a progression from the Datsun 720 and has the same/similar IFS. Could have a Safari/Patrol front axle swapped in at some point. They have the same diff head as some d21 (terrano/pathfinder not usually navara) rear axle.

The d21 rear can come with a factory LSD. Pretty sure you can get a lock right for the d21 rear. (some not all)

my nz new navara came out with factory rear lsd if that helps rex russel use to have one there but as of model etc can't help

If you are using that same diff that was in it originally a nissan zx lsd will fit, but they are a little pricey. I looked at doing this with my old terrano.

okay...
the goss is that he has currently, as some of you have worked out, an ifs navara but lookin to make it solid front..

he had asked about lsd's for the front and mentioned 'd21'.. didnt mean to confuse anyone..

al.. how much do these zx lsd's go for approx? only reason he would prefer an lsd to a locker is that the engineered weak point would be the lsd lettin go, not the cv's..

i'll find out more details..

Of the top of my head I can't remember, but I wasn't prepared to pay the ptrice the guy wanted. It was the whole front end. Ask around some wreckers.

hey Al, does this mean a rear 300zx LSD bolts into front of Terrano?

At the time I was looking around at doing this that's what I was told. I found the info off of the NPORA site in USA that is dedicated to Terrano's/pathfinders.
