I must acknowledge one of the other Jeepers for the inspiration (and for letting me steal his templates) for doing this. I am merely following along anothers footsteps, so cannot take credit for being the genius behind the thinking.
After wiping my guards out a few weeks ago, and subsequently getting prices for repacement guards, both new and 2nd hand, i figured that seeing as how something had to be dont to repair the damage, that i may as well go whole hog and give it the FF. So, I'm not just being "posey", there was a practical reason for doing this.
Initially i went to ta local engineers to scam some tube and steel, and ended u getting them to bend everything up for me too, couldnt see the point me me swearing and cursing and throwing shit about, when there were experts who could do it for me, and for a very reasonable price too.
Theres no side on views for a reason..... ermm..... the angles didnt quite work out on the vertical plane, so its a work in progress at the mo, bit more bending, bit more hammering and she'll be right. Theres still a gussetted bracket for the front to make and LEDs to get for the indicators too, hopefully by Sunday it will be set to go.
and nice and strong..... but maybe too strong and it'll be the inner guards buckling now instead of the fenders when you bounce off banks. Side bars like DB's would help but probably dont keep with that jeep look
