Rerewhakaaitu Fundrasier

Post by Scott »

Hi, I've been asked to sort out another 4x4 run/event.
I'd like too know what 4wders would like in a run/event and what you think it you'd pay for it? any idea's are welcome. In the past i've run trips for trucks with roll cages/helmets/self recovery (Rerewhakaaitu rugged bush bash) in hind site is may have put people off? you tell me
Cheers

just a thought gear it like a hard grade 5 bush type run where road legal hard trucks can do as well as trailored club trucks. put a disclaimer that there will be panel damage if driven wrong etc and the organisers etc take no responcibility etc.

regarding prices $30 to $40 per day per truck sounds like a starting point $10 for breaky and $20 for dinner per person sounds like a reasonable fiqure.

will be interested to see what the other members say

Keep it hardcore, not enough hardcore stuff around. Theres plenty of shiny trips going. Did you ever have trouble filling the Rugged Bush Bash?, if not, dont change anything, if yes, then maybe some changes are needed. Personally if its a hardcore race/trip, I'm in
'85 Hilux crawler, 3rz, duals, 4.7's, 4.88's, ARB's, 30 spline Longfields, 6 stud SNR4x4 Histeer, Airshocks up front, coiled rear, 40" Iroks.

Hi, If i organise a fundrasing run it will be on private land because (i don't have to do heaps of paper work).I have not set a date, i'd just like some feed back.
It's the Rerewhakaaitu rodeo club that has asked for help, on the rodeo club members land (2500 acres).
I was thinking of a "hare scamble" type run?.
I would like to hear idea's on what sort of run may earn the club the most money?, What's a fair entry fee/ one or two day event.
shiny runs--lots of trucks, lower entry fee?.
Tough truck run-- less trucks, higher fee?.
Tell me your idea's as i'm open to anything also i'm wondering if a fundrasier in a time of not much money is a good idea?.
Last year the Rerewhakaaitu shool fundrasier (it will proberly be happing next year) was alright, but we only got 18 tough trucks. We need more trucks! any idea's?.
Cheers

The first one was great, the second one was good but was arranged to leave your team mate behind, all worked out ok in the end but club groups prefer to stay in their group and not leave a team mate behind, suggest for the future, seperate groups,e.g road legal type trucks with no roll over protection on one course so they have a good time and a harder course for the trucks better equipped including roll cages and not bother with the sunday morning stage, its a social event to suit all vehicles so include all vehicles , Also the catering was great for the first two events ,

Just my thoughts

Cheers
