anyone turbo'd a 1fz fe???

anyone turbo'd a 1fz fe??? thats the question, i know they go good, and there are kits available in oz,fuel consumption is around 22 to 25l per 100k's at best so cant get much worse, just wondering if anyone in little ol nz has?

I know of a local guy who is twin turboing his dx Corolla 1982 with a Lexus V8,
Hes had the lexus for a while and its evil :evil:
Let alone stapping 2 turbos to it
ill try get sum pics etc :twisted:
SASed Isuzu Mu - hilux diffs, Rears up front, disc brake conversion, ifs hub swap, crossover steering, and legal!!!!

a 1fzfe is the factory landcruiser 4.5litre petrol engine not a 1uzfe close though..btw swampa has just sold his supercharged 1uzfe hilux so he knows what forced induction does to a lexus :twisted: :twisted: :wink:

turbo !!! i agree with glen, JUST DO IT!!!! and don't forget the big intercooler in front ,two go with turbo it be no snail!!!!

allready have, the process has begun, will be a slow and expensive exercise, i can get a manifold already setup, need to find an outfit that i can trust to do the rest, any where in godzone

I am currently building a 1000+hp 1FZ-FE and am selling off my current set-up that I have been developing over the past 5 years.

Standard valves
Ivan Tighe performace camshafts (268 deg duration)
Mild clean-up to bowls
Head is O-ringed (Rhemac engineering, Adelaide)
Reduced compression via modified combustion chambers
Upgraded valve-springs to cope with 20+ PSI boost
Custom ARP head studs
Standard rods, crank pistons
Motor is all fresh-

Motor will need to be run-in when fired first time.

Cold-side
100 series landcruiser stub manifold,
modified to run 12 injectors
2x factory fuel rails
2x factory pressure regulators
12 injectors, 6x440cc, 6x550cc
Custom upper plenum with bell-mouth floor plate
Standard throttle-body (65mm)

Hot-side
Custom turbo manifold, split-pulsed runner type
Dual Tial 38mm external wastegates (7psi springs)
Garret GT42 plain bearing turbocharger, rated to 1000hp, modified GT45 1.22 rear housing
(as new condition-just refreshed by ATS here in Adelaide and has not been used since)
Uni-filter 6 inch air filter + 5 inch rubber elbow to connect to turbo
V- band + 4 inch stainless dump pipe
Teflon Braided oil feed + drain lines.

Standard distributor + Top Gun ignition leads
A single Bosch 044 fuel pump is included, which will feed enough fuel for just on 400rwkw.

HP ability
This motor will comfortably and reliably produce in excess of 400rwkw@23psi boost.

To use this motor, you will need an aftermarket EFI computer. Autronic, Motec, Haltech are suggested, along with a Crane Hi-6, or similar CDI system.

it reads grate!!!i like the sound reliably and comfortably when taking about big hp !!!! sound like it be happy'er at drags .

Hey man, how'd you get on turbing the 1fz-fe? I have one in my 70series cruiser and wanting to know if its not to bad to do?

Off road is great plenty torque and power ,
On the road is just a fun , specially smoking patrols,
I've had it running for nearly a year now with no engine problems , even out bush on 40deg days last summer the temp gauge didnt budge,

What year is your 70 series bud?

Fuel Eco with turbo and 35s is the same as when it had no turbo and 31s

79series could you please give details of wat turbo you used on your 1fz and what ecu are you running

garret gt35/40
efi hardware toyota 450cc injectors direct fit
Walbro in tank fuel pump
haltec ecu plug n play
lpg injection as well
fpr
Now low mount turboglide manifold
3" exhaust
front mount intercooler
Back to internal wastegate
It pulls past 180kmh no problems, (in a landcruiser scary i know)
