Anyways, it has a switch marked "heat" next the the rear window switch on the dash. When flicked on it seems to give a fast idle until the motor gets up to temp, then goes back to normal idle. Anyone know if this is all it does and if it can be left on all the time?

R50 Terrano "Heat" Switch
Hey Guys, recently got myself a 97 R50 3.2 Diesel Terrano after my 94 D21 got stolen
- Man what a nice car, I loved the old terrano but the new one is awesome. Its like the fixed everything that anoyed me on the old one but kept the good stuff
Hard to believe it is the same motor as the TD27, just a bit reworked

Re: R50 Terrano "Heat" Switch
thats all it is helps warm the engine up in cold clims use it or not your call
89 safari, pto winch, 33x15 simexs. sliders,75mm lift . turbo intercoolered
Re: R50 Terrano "Heat" Switch
I use mine on the Safari on cold winter mornings, warms the motor up quickly to defrost the windows quite well.
Re: R50 Terrano "Heat" Switch
usually the later ones up the revs and changes the fuel map. i guess it retards the timing a bit so it can pour more fuel in without increaseing revs any higher.
i wouldn't use it all the time.
