most trials trucks are what 900 to 1200kg's, my cruiser 2500kg's plus, i know they work good on light vehicles, what about tanks? i'm not gonna fork out 2k plus on a set of tyres that dont match my car

HiRiklux runs 40" trep's. You can try PMing him, but don't hold your breath, I don't think he pays much attention to this site anymore.
They seem to be a nice pliable tyre that is quite soft, so I can't see longevity being all that great (especially on an 80 series)

Re: anyone running trepadores???
im the only trials person with them
my truck weighs 1600kg and there miint, for my club set of tyres i have trepadors on the rear and kumos on the front and the trepadors have always cleared better in the clay. they work really well every where except the really slopy mud, there not quite as good theres, so yea, thats what i think

Re: anyone running trepadores???
whats the club truck, done much miles on the road?
on a scale of 1 to 10, centipedes being 10 in the mud, what would you give them?
they bulge much?

Dont forget Grunta, Rick can hardly read!, not enough pics on this site for him

anyway, from what I saw of Ricks Treps, they seem to have a stiff sidewall, and soft tread blocks, his doublecab hilux didnt seem to make them bag, or deform much on the rocks, course I have no idea what pressure he was running in them
I've only seen them once on Mitchs truck, and he rolled while I was watching so that gives me help at all

Ricks 40's are X-ply's
I think you might find that Mitchs are radial ones?cant conform myself.
Huge differance.X-plys have much bigger lugs, deeper thread, side wall protection etc
I would go the 37" X-ply's if I had the dosh

Karam, talk to Roger H. He has a set of 35's. Last I saw them on his Nissan out a Tuatapere, a double cab Hilux on 33 Pirelli's drove past him.

Re: anyone running trepadores???
just been and had a look at a set of 35, dores, radials,
1st thing i notice is the lack of side lugs, then the closeness of the lugs, then the shallow depth of tread
do the trepadores look different in crossply, are the side lugs bigger, if not i probably wont get these tyres, what he did have was 35' bighorns, once again a tyre i have never seen before, NOT BAD, i like them.

Re: anyone running trepadores???
the radials have nothing on the x ply, looks like this is the tyre for me
Re: anyone running trepadores???
TSL Swampers? Or Boggers? Both come in cross ply and plenty of sizes.

had swampers before, dont think 37'boggers would be too good travelling from invers to tauranga

You still have 37" Boggers???
One day I'm hoping to get some 38.5's

Re: anyone running trepadores???
nah, dont have boggers, have been thinking about them, sold the 40's yesterday, in the last month i have sold, 35''pedes, 35'' bfg's, 37'' creepies and 40'' wranglers, time to start again with 1, and only 1 set of tyres
Re: anyone running trepadores???
From your comments i gather you plan to use them on the road quite abit. It says in the following promo that the rubber is soft so I don't know what sort of milage they will do.
"Trepador competition is a bias ply extreme off-road tough tire. The Trepador competition is specially designed with a soft compound rubber to provide excellent rock traction. This puncture-resistant tyre gives you durability and control in any weather, while still providing excellent braking and driving performance. Aggressive directional tread design provides excellent dry and wet handling stability on all types of terrain. Multi-curve tread siping and multi-stage staggered shoulder pattern improves traction on loose dirt while enhancing braking and driving performance, uniform tread contact area for sure-footed handling and improved control even under the most difficult off-road and rocky terrain. Nylon belt-reinforced tire construction improves puncture resistance and prolongs tread life. Inflated diameter is approx 939mm (37 inches), section width is approx 330mm (13 inches), recommended rim width is 10 inches."

Re: anyone running trepadores???
You can get non-comp Treps too.
Not sure on sizing though.
I read on another forum of a guy that could squeeze the side bitters (comp spec 40's) together they are that soft.
Tim.
If you are going to drive to Norf-land Id get another set of tyres.
