Post by PajeroMan »

Hey all,

June 17th (Saturday) 2006.

Muriwai Beach. Im taking my Paj up there and was wondering if anyone would be keen?
mercutio, PAID, nz4X4 have already shown interest for this month, which I can not attend as im not exactly available.

Seeing as though the high tide is about 11:30am on that day, I was planning on been there about 2pm for an afternoon run.

If anyone is keen, Reply back here.

Muriwai is just north of Kumue Town, It takes about an hour to drive there from Whitford.
I live in Pakuranga, so would be fine if we meet locally and you could follow me.

8) up to $..?.. fine :?: for having those Fog lights on when there is no fog

About the only new rule I agreed with
http://www.landtransport.govt.nz/rules/vehicle-lighting-2004.html

http://www.landtransport.govt.nz/road-user-safety/new-road-rules/summary-of-changes.html

Vehicle fog lamps must only be used when conditions are such that your visibility is severely reduced – eg by snow or thick fog. You must not use fog lamps under clear atmospheric conditions as you could dazzle other road users.

Firstly I would love the cops to try and catch me up in the sand dunes trying to give me a ticket.

I have driven all over the place and i use the spots every night time. I use them cause for some reason the yellow light really brings up every bump and dimple in the road and signs become alot brighter. They are fantastic.

WOF stations say that you are allowed them on your machine as long as both are going, if one is not they will fail you till you get it fixed, or take them off.

I was pulled over in Whangeri one night, the coppa said to turn them off, I asked why when it was raining and I was comming through to go home in Auckland and visability was poor. The piggy just said not trhough town. So i turned them off, then as soon as his back was turned walking back to his car, i turned them on again and drove off...f*^# them man, They are great, and unless you in a car, they dont dazzel you. Poor car drivers might curse me, but who cares. 4WD Rock man!!! hahahaa

From the handbook - LWB's have a 92 litre tank  and SWB's have 75,

but the most you can ever get in the thing is 65 unless you go real slow with the filler. I ran out on the way to the airport last year, I was so sure the low fuel light would come on with more than just 8 litres left.

$90? is that all? when i got mine in 04... i think... it cost $80 odd and prices have gone up quite a bit since then. how far is taupo? thats how far i got. ive run out heaps of times.. i blame the dents in my tank, now i get worried every time my fuel light comes on. ill get another tank one day....and put a really thick steel guard plate under it!

92L !!! well that will explain why when i go to the gassy Its never right to the bottom, i always have to put in around 85ltrs!!!!

But if you keep in well serviced and got everything running fine and no air con, you are sweet as a car!
