94 prado heater switch

Post by chrome »

bloddy heater switch only works on 3 and 4, just the same as my old surf, is there a place to get new switches or do they all crap out like these too did?? the prado one has the aircon in the same switch tho on the outer ring.

May not be the switch, Does hitting the heater gently make it work in 1 and 2?, there is a resister coil thingy on the heater somewhere that may need replacing to fix this.

Should be a standard 70 series item anyway as most of the interior is the same....., Crizpy is local and wrecking a cruiser I think.....

My 94 has the same issue. I have heard it is a resistor on the heater itself, common on all 70s.

Same problem with my 93 and I have heard the same answer too. Me thinks most hilux's suffer from this as well.
Anyone know how much the new resistor's cost and from where around Chch?
