warn m8000 freespool

hi well gave the winch a good workout last weekend worked really well and was really pleased with it BUT the free spool wasnt very free, it was really hard to pull out i am guessing the brake was on slightly makeing it a mission to pull it out. i am running overbraid 9mm rope (think its 9mm) its the old style m8000 dont want to run the winch out with the motor as it heats the drum up alot and might damage the rope, and it saves battery. hope someone can shed some light on this for me. thanks.

I rebuilt mine because the free spool had completely seized.

If yours is anything like mine its probably all rusty and grimey and shit inside the gearbox

Its hard to explain on here but the gearbox is fairly simple to strip down and clean out yourself so i highly recommend giving it a go. A few hours work makes a massive difference to how it operates

Freespool can not be affected by the brake dragging.
