I just brought one of these helmet cams. They're shock/water proof. They are a self contained unit. They're pretty cool. only the sound quality ain't great. And ya can't change lens angles. But being waterproof is a plus.

It was plastic felcrowed down to the front spoiler. About as low as I could go.
These things are water proof to 30ft. And they are pretty cheap.
