Stalling Safari

Post by FORGE1 »

Hi Everyone,

I have a problem with my GQ idling on slightly steep hills. I sitting on a bank and it slowly started to loose revs then it just died. It would only start if I pumped fuel through while starting it. When I got it back on level ground it still wouldnt idle and after a few revs it was working fine. Its only done this a couple of times but its enough to anoy me.

Does anyone know what could be wrong or what I could do to fix it??

Thanks :)

Mates Legacy was doing that. Was the fuel pump.

Yip I'm pretty sure its been primed properly I will have to check that when i get home afterwork. I have been told to put a non return valve on the main fuel line do you reckon that would work?

If its primed properly then I would get the fuel pump looked at, there is definitely a problem there. Mine runs fine even with the vehicle on its side or standing vertical on its nose or tail.

(i assume diesel?) proberly just got an air leak. check fuel filter and primer pump or loose fuel lines. primer pumps usually have a one way valve in them.
