EOI: Solid Axle Surf

Post by SmurfN »

so am weighing up the option of selling my 4wd as am getting married early next year so could do with the funds...

here are some details, no pics but i am sure you can imagine it...

yn60 2 door surf. 1985, has 3y motor. manual. petrol. brown with white canopy. only done 174,000kms. owned by elderly couple from new to country in '91 until earlier this year. i purchased in february and it had NEVER been offroad, that is before bought it :D

solid front end surf
5 speed gearbox, all good
32inch maxxis mudders on black 15 inch rims - tyres only done 3000kms max
rebuilt alternator 1000kms ago
new leads and spark plugs 1000 kms ago
new dizzy and points etc plus tune 1000kms ago
diff and gearbox oils done 1000kms ago
replaced heater tap under 100kms ago
new starter motor under 100kms ago
new water pump under 100 kms ago same time as starter motor
oil change and filter under 100kms ago
cooling system flush and fresh coolant under 100kms ago
brand new headunit and 4 inch speakers a few weeks ago
very capable offroad truck
4wd works sweet
towbar
sunroof 8)
a collection of bridgestone and firestone stickers - freebies advertising mates work
one of the belts a bit noisy at the mo but will get that sussed.
interior generally tidy. new cushioning in arm rest put in as old one was worn away and smacking ya elbow on it when off road frekkin hurts :x has duct tape wrapped around it...

new wof last month or so and reg for another 3 maybe. will have to check... had new front brake pads installed with wof...

just an expression on interest at this point. don't know what its worth. given the low kms, tyres, new parts recently installed etc i would expect a fair price.

your opinions welcome.

will get pics this up this weekend

cheers :D

a word of advice, don't sell it, you won't have spare cash once married :-)

 that is a good reason to keep it. time away from the mrs is valuable and 4wdin is one of the best options :D

if i do sell i would purchase another 4wd middle of next year so would just be temporary without a 4wd...

when it comes down to it i don't wana sell but might have to... i won't give it away though... chances of finding a decent smurf are getting harder so unless i get an offer i can't refuse, might have to hold onto it...

any comments relating to my truck and not my pending marriage???

really is a buyers market mate,if your gona sell id say start advertising now otherwise if you wait till last minute ull have peolpe trying to really talk you down,i put the fellers out for my truck a while back when it looked like i was gona loose my job and got nothing same as you, plus these days people arnt interested in paying good money for a well looked after truck it seems, theyd rather buy a standard thrashed vechile and build there own (well it seems that way to me),sori to be the bearer of bad news tho,but hey congrads on the upcoming wedding :D

i bought one about 6 months ago with 162000 kms in christchurch (drove it back to auckland) with 31x10.5 savero steel belts with good tread had just had new alternator and regulator put in it and new leads has towbar sunroof and is the 85 model and i paid 2500 for it. i would say that that is about the max you will get for it ami has them valued at 2700. not really worth selling in my eyes. there a great truck on and off road and will last forever even if they sit and just get turned over every once in awhile.

DONT SELL IT THEY ARE VERY HARD TO COME BY specially with the petrol motor in it!!

just my 2 cents
