yep they are the same except for the bellhousing (which im guessing your putting a 1uz one on anyway). Ive got one in my rover and just had to change the input shaft, oil pump and bellhousing (just used the bits off a 1uz auto).

I dont think any of the cruisers of that era came with the PTO gear in the transfer. They have a spacer instead and the plate is still there. So all you do to run a pto is put a pto gear in from an earlier transfer.

Wayne.

Flag the lexus auto idea.

Run a mk4 TT supra box- its identical but has one extra set of clutches/bands or something (you probably already know this). Would be wise for your beast.

If you want- The guy who bought my supra has had a box for sale after he did the conversion. I could ask him if its still around? I dont think he wants much.

+ it'd be awesome getting part of my old car back in the family

The only difference with the Supra autos is they have more clutch packs, doesn't cost much to get those put into a different auto. It's cheaper to keep buy a2jz-ge auto, take the clutches out and put them in a prado auto, than to buy a TT auto. The boy racers can't get rid of the 2jz-ge autos.. I've seen them go on trademe for $30.

The surf autos off the v6' don't have a split transfer, ie they are one oil gallery. They also have a different shift system.

The difference between a 2.4 and 3l auto is the speed sensor, thats about it as far as I can tell.
