6th & 7th June

Post by SV1K »

Yeah, yeah I know it's not the weekend but for me this whole week has been my weekend. So on that note, it was time for me to swap my motor and box into a new body, chassis and all.

Must be flintstone power...

I've started the weekend early aswell, but its because fifth gear was sounding very bad, gear box now in bits, looking for heavy duty clutch to go in while its out. Looks like few days working on the truck. Think I might do body lift before gear box goes back in, only to make it easier honest!

You would be correct there, and it is not easy to get in there, remove the speedo cluster and use a magnet to get the bolt in there, then go up from underneath and with a socket and universal... best of luck!
I had help to get it started though hehehe in the lines of a your fellas hand!

went to work for half a day and then was clearing up the shed and found my old racing wheel, so decided to chuck it in the 80. cruiser wheel 395mm, racing wheel 330mm. so quite a difference.....................

Image

also took the towball off the rear as per the request of the organisors of next weekends safari. Was going to put a shackle and rope on there, but the hole was smaller than the shackle, so it didn't happen. I can see a pintle hitch reciever coming very soon I think.........................

Image

didn't really have any plans for tomorrow, other than more cleaning and a small job involving putting the cruiser wheel back on.  Bloody small racing wheel is cool but impractical. sits too close to indicator stalks, kept flicking high beam on, horn dont work and indicators don't return. I knew that would be the case, as I've tried it on other cruiser before.

Stupid 5 minute jobs.

We decided that it would be easier to remove the roll cage so that we can shift the air input and output and add a bar across the top.

Figured easy enough just undo the bolts.

However to get those bolts out had to remove seats, rear bar, roof, doors, seat belts and pretty much everything else. Nevermind will be worth it in the end.

Should have put the truck in the sun as there is a bloody cold breese out there.
