Hi people - I`ve just a brought a 1992 Terrano as a cheap hack to run into the ground while I tidy my old Landy up - its not a bad truck, just a bit low, long and bouncy for my liking... like a car after the landy though.
It has a set of okay 30x9.5 15 RMT`s on it, but i`d like to run the 7.50x16 Michelin XZL`s of my series 2 on it for better grip and some lift. If I get a set of navara ute (16") rims - will the XZL`s without much rubbing?
I could just buy some 15" muddies but the XZL`s are awesome - they`re good enough for the camel trophy / paris dakar and the british army, so i`m sure they`ll cope with the nissan.
Oh and is $450 about right for a 1992 5spd TD27T? with rego, needing door hinges - I`d hate to think I paid too much...
Cheers. Nick

dont put them on your terrano, i have the same on my landy and put them on my surf while rebuilding my landy, even though they made a huge difference and went well on the surf i ended up using half the tread off them as the surf was a lot heavier than the landy. My 7.50's were not easy to come by so regret it still.

Thanks for the advice, Mike, I`ve already independantly came to the same conclusion.
I took the terrano out for a bit of a run today - comparing stock with stock the landy thrashes it offroad, so I might just put some all terrains on the terrano, as I don`t see the point in spending big dollars to get a truck less capable than a 42yo Land Rover - let alone the Rangie I used to have.
I`ll pretty much use it as a slightly more capable station wagon than a Subaru wagon, and use the landy for off-roading...

sounds like a wise idea. you would most likely have no end with issues with the terrano steering breaking offroad anyway.
My surf is lifted 4" has 33" bfgs, twin lockers and my SWB LR walks all over it

So yeah i'm with you for sticking with the landy offroad

Shh... don`t say that too loud or we`ll get clobbered by the Nissan / Toyota crowd
