my 70 pos
my 70 pos
well im finally getting there.sorted my xmember cut 75mm out of it and sorted a double carden uj for it and popped my 38.5 tsl boggers on her and its looking good..... just have to sort out my vacum dramas now.i dont have any 4wd when i select it and no brakes,as soon as i tap the brake pedal the warning light come on so there is no vacum in the tank so im going to have a bit of a fiddle with them try swapping them around and see what difference it makes
ive got 2 vacum hoses out the back of the alternator 1 goes to a little black holding tank below the brake booster the other into the firewall beside the clutch cylinder, dont know where to start from here any info would be great ta.
ill carry on looking

Re: my 70 pos
change your diff ratios to 4.88 or 5.29s you will see big differences in preformance on and off road,
. oh and your back passenger tyres on backwards. haha

Yip, will go better with them all round the wrong way as long as you only travel in reverse...

They are directional tires purposefully designed to dig and clear mud while going forwards. Would put them all on the right way with V facing forward if I were you. They will dig up banks - and bogs - and any muddy surface if you've got the power to spin them - mine have been known to make some big rooster tails

Try lowering the pressure to make them bag more and using a higher gear to stop the truck spinning them.

Re: my 70 pos
yea ill swap them back then.the truck spins em nice and i am yet to play around with pressures with them, spent all of saturday driving them and am very happy with them,i think the differnt level lugs they just chew things to bits
i had chunks of grass and roots stuck in them

Re: my 70 pos
next time we go away your going at the back, and your going though all those big holes that haven't been used in years so we can still get through the others
if you are coming to the pub on thursday could you bring that airbox? or come over and check out my new place and my work in progress.

So you got the 4wd vacuum solonoid sorted?
I bought a couple of vacuum solonoids units from Just Cruisers and also made a brand new one up from bits in a compressor supply shop.

Re: my 70 pos
my truck dosent run any of those solinoids anymore i just run vacum off the alternator pump then plug it into the line i want to use,ive also got vacum that i can have plugged in so that when someone fires up the motor itl run for 3 or 4 seconds then when vacum kicks in shuts the intake butterfly and stops and wont start until the line is reversed, good security, the 4wd is just 2 vacum lines to the transfer if you plug vacum into one it engages and the other dis engage.easy
