GQ engine swap
Wednesday we are changing the diesel engine in the 94 GQ c/chassis for another one with less ks and it has an aftermarket turbo. As we see it the only problem will be to make an air filter box and plumb it into the short snorkel which is for an MQ.I know famous last words but, if all else fails we can just put the old one back in for the time being. As this will be the 1st turboed engine are there any pitfalls we should look out for?
Re: GQ engine swap
You'll need a decent aftermarket clutch. Find an air-cleaner assembly from a turbo vehicle and use that instead of bodging something up.

Just fired up the engine, going well, off to exhurst shop tomorrow, found an air box, and should be back at work Saturday.
