I was going to ask a similar question, but wanted to leave it to more knowledgable chaps

to have the gearbox mounted transfer you need the later model split transfer case ( I think )

give Phil a ring Malcolm, coz he changed all mine over for me, but had to find a different transfer case
80 Series on 35" creepies, manual with twin factory lockers.

The plan is to change to a split transfer because they are stronger than the older ones (that what Ive been told anyway..)
It looks like Im going to have to get a diesel gearbox with split tf and change gears to petrol.
Ill need crossmember to hold the gear box in as the old gearbox mounts to the chassie

Your old gearbox will only have mounts off the bellhousing onto the chassis so in theory you should be able to do a transfercase swap without worrying about changing mounts. The only thing a bit different on your truck is there is a custom made mount off the back of the transfercase onto the crossmember behind the gearbox.

the older transfer case had the hand brake on the back of the case.
if you haven't already done so you will need to sort out hand brake onto the rear axle.
