rage exhaust systems in east tamaki had a free flow 1ktze dump pipe on the shelf, but listed it for the 95 on prado (cant remember model code but the first of teh IFS ones. Price was around $250 for memory. No idea whether it would bolt on to the 93-95 beam axle prado. Tempted to try as mine is a gutless wonder when towing the zuk up any incline....

Done it on a Hilux 2L-TE
Opened up the cast iron Turbo outlet casting, larger joint plate hole and larger system from then on. Made a HUGE difference. Engine heat, power, torque. Twice the POShite.
Yet to do this to my Prado but definitely on the plan as time permits.

Whats with you rig?
You should have plenty of torque for a zook behind? what does it weigh?
I found porting my cylinder head and associated piping, and fully blending in with weld & die grinder, the bowl where the EGR came in, has made HUGE gains. I have about 1/3 more mid range torque and lower EGT's. The exhaust ports have a nasty sharp & restricted 90 deg bend, it looks almost machined.
From 100 to 140 km now 1km instead of 1.6 km. Now tops out at 155km and no other mods yet other than a new set of injector tips.

i reckon these dump pipes can be made for half that price. im looking for a dxf file of the flanges but might have to pull my truck apart to measure up my own . i just dont want my truck off the road too long. once i got those sorted i will make a few up and flick them off

just clicked over 200K. Zuk weighs approx 1 ton, plus trailer at the time was 250kg. Up bombay hill was down to 60-65 km. Previous tow vehicle was a Disco 2 TD5 (2.5L 5 cylinder), that would do minimum 70km with similar weight zuk and a 400kg trailer
Is a manual 1kz, whether they dont tow as well...... Perhaps I expected the yota to pull better than the smaller engined pommy wagon :?

Mines at 190k and has always towed better than that apart from when the head was cracked (white smoke showing)
Suspect either incorrect fueling; volume, timing or spray pattern. Or perhaps boost wrong or Compressions down.

a dxf is a file type for a cad program, usually a drawing that is to be profile cut or laser/waterjet cut needs to be a dxf file and can be sent straight to the cutting machine

hey old blue, no i havent made one yet but i have the parts. one pic is from oz and the real nice one is from finland.
a turbo exhaust flange can be bought from autobend for around $50 and a 90 degree weld elbow is about $15. im not sure about labour yet. i will get my flange copied at the local laser place so then i can foward the data around by email to anyone with acess to an engineering shop that has a profile cutter or laser. will let you know how the build goes :D

got the dumppipe on tonight. but without the flange showen in the pic , i just ran it down to the next set of flanges after thhe flexi. spools up faster for sure and it is starting to get boost pressure from 1400rpm so not a bad start. it definatly gets more turbo whistle too sounds mean

i think i would just make the cast bit to the triangle flange pipe the same as the ones in the first pictures i posted. much quicker and then just swap in the new one. so i will be jigging it soon. i am looking for a place to draw up the flanges for me or else i could order them in. i think i can get them lasered locally for cheaper im just busy playin around with my truck at the mo while the motovation is good. i will see the laser man early next week and see what he can do for me :)

hey there, i got them from autobend in chch they have an online pdf catalog. i cant get them any cheaper than what i got them from these guys, just try to use a trade account. they are pretty easy to make and my one is still all good no cracks or whatever. when used with a full exhaust you will notice the power increase on hills and stuff, worth doing.
