Surely its easier to get it fixed in hams.

Doug and i were keen to rig the cable to a bicycle brake style hand clutch system. Handicap car for a handicap tom

I started to fix my clutch today and found two things
1. the fire wall is extremely thin where the clutch cable mounts to
2. the clutch cable is mounted at a queer angle and twists the fire wall when the clutch is disengaged

anyway I made a plate up today will weld it in tomorrow and should driving again

Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon occurrence with scuds. There is quite serious leverage on that firewall mount and as soon as the cable gets tight they start to work at the join and eventually fail through fatigue.

Ideally they should be strngthened with a doubler plate, or else regularly check your clutch cable is free.
